Who we are
WeeGo! is operated by Blitz Social LLC, an Illinois domestic limited liability company ("Blitz Social," "we," "us"). This policy covers the WeeGo! iOS app and the weegotravel.com website (together, the "Service").
Privacy questions: privacy@weegotravel.com.
What we collect
We collect only what's needed to run the Service. Specifically:
- Account info — display name, handle, email or phone number, optional avatar and bio. You provide this when you sign up.
- Trip content — trips, route stops, expenses, photos, messages, and reactions you create or post inside the Service.
- Contact discovery (optional) — if you grant contacts permission, we hash phone numbers locally on your device and ask the server which hashes correspond to existing WeeGo! accounts. We never upload or store the plaintext contacts.
- Coarse / precise location (optional) — used only when you explicitly tag a stop, share live location with your trip, or check in. Location is never collected in the background.
- Device + diagnostics — anonymized crash reports, performance traces, and device identifiers (advertising identifier is not collected).
The complete machine-readable inventory lives in our iOS Privacy Manifest shipped with each app build.
How we use it
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To show you the people, trips, and content you ask to see.
- To deliver push notifications you opt in to (chat messages, trip invites, reminders).
- To investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, and respond to legal requests.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the Service.
We don't sell your personal information. We don't use your trip content for advertising. We don't train external AI models on your trip content.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the product:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, push notifications, hosting).
- Apple Push Notification Service (delivers push to iOS devices).
- Cloudflare (CDN, edge runtime for the website).
- Legal recipients, when we receive a binding request and have confirmed it's valid.
When you choose to make trip content public — by setting a trip to Public, posting to the public feed, or sharing a trip URL — that content becomes visible to anyone with the link. Don't post anything you don't want shared.
Your choices
- Visibility — every trip and every post defaults to private. You explicitly choose when to make something public, friends-only, or crew-only.
- Notifications — fine-grained per-category toggles in Settings. You can also disable all push at the iOS system level.
- Permissions — contacts, location, photos, and camera are off until you explicitly grant them, and you can revoke each one independently in iOS Settings.
- Export — email privacy@weegotravel.com for a copy of your data.
- Deletion — Settings → Account → Delete account triggers a 30-day soft-delete window during which you can sign in to cancel. After the window, we erase your account and all content you uniquely authored.
Children
WeeGo! is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email privacy@weegotravel.com and we'll delete the account.
Where data lives
Trip data is stored in Google Cloud's US regions. Push tokens are stored alongside accounts. Crash reports are stored by Google Firebase Crashlytics in their managed infrastructure.
Security
We use TLS in transit and encryption at rest provided by our cloud vendors. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your Google or Apple password.
Despite reasonable safeguards, no system is perfectly secure. Email security@weegotravel.com to report a vulnerability.
Changes
We'll update this page when we materially change how we handle data. The "Last updated" date above is the canonical marker. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
